------------------------------------------------------------- +++ ScareBear 2.0 BASE +++ (c) 2006 Netherworks Studios ------------------------------------------------------------- All of this product's content was created by Joseph Dennison (aka Netherworks) In the same vein of the holywood horror slashers, ScareBear 2.0 was once a cuddly-wuddly teddy bear figure that is now possessed of a evil force - determined to make mince meat of the other denizens of your Poser Runtime. Wickedly Cute and Oh-so-Mischevious, ScareBear is again on the loose and in a sequel that you don't want to miss! More Fun and Frightening than ever, Netherworks Studios presents to you our esteemed victims, er... patrons, ScareBear 2.0. This is a re-imagining of the original ScareBear figure - a fusion of old ideas and new ones to create the most complete and flexible Furry Fiend that will ever (dis)grace your Runtime! The most compelling features of this new figure are a uniform compatibility with the Toon Critters that were developed after ScareBear and Scarietta's debut, namely Secret Danger Cat, RottenTail and Kapooki. This means that the material settings for ScareBear 2.0 are akin to those of the afformentioned figures and more importantly, all of these figures can swap clothing, often with little to no adjustments. Furthermore, with ScareBear 2.0, you actually get 2 Figures in one as Scarietta is now part of the ScareBear 2.0 design - just turn a dial. A full list of all features follows. We recommend that purchasers read through the ScareBear 2.0 readme for tips and tricks on working with this figure. Featuring: * Fully Posable Evil Teddy Bear Figure. Approximately 36,000 Polygons for maximum morphability. * Over double the head polygons compared to the original ScareBear. * Body Style and Rigging suitable for Netherworks' later ScareToon line that allows ScareBear 2.0 to adopt clothing and accessories from Secret Danger Cat, RottenTail and Kapooki. Some manual adjustments may be required to account for girth of base body shape. * Joint-Controlled Morph enhancements make ScareBear 2.0 the best Posing ScareToon to date! This feature can be turned off (and back on) for 3rd party content and using clothing from Secret Danger Cat, RottenTail and Kapooki. * Scarietta 2.0 is included as body and head morphs plus an additional texture set. * Great range of Head Morphs and Dials including new Expressions: - Look Dials (3): Eyes-UpDown, Eyes-Size, Eyes-Spread. - Expressions (13): Angry, Grump, Hatred, Shocked, Amused, Smug, Happy, CrazyHappy, Laughing, Bored, Sad, Fear, Surprised. - Styles (1): Scarietta2. - Head (1): HeadSize. - Ears (8): EarsSize, EarsTurnIn, EarTurnIn-R, EarTurnIn-L, EarsTwistOut, EarTwistOut-R, EarTwistOut-L, EarsTwistIn. - Eyebrows (16): HideEyebrows, BrowsUp, BrowUp-R, BrowUp-L, BrowsDown, BrowDown-R, BrowDown-L, BrowsArch, BrowArch-R, BrowArch-L, BrowsAngry, BrowAngry-R, BrowAngry-L, BrowsWorry, BrowWorry-R, BrowWorry-L. - Eyes (13): BlinkBoth, Blink-Right, Blink-Left, Eyes-Size, RightEye-Size, LeftEye-Size, EyesScale, EyesDownUp, EyesWide, Pupils-Size, Pupils-Cat, Pupils-Width, Irises-Size. - Lashes (1): HideLashes. - Mouth (18): MouthClose (set to 1 initially), Smile, Smile-R, Smile-L, SmileAlt, SmileAlt-R, SmileAlt-L, Frown, Frown-R, Frown-L, MouthTwist-R, MouthTwist-L, MouthWidth, Mouth O, Mouth F, Mouth M, Tongue T, Tongue L. - Tongue (5): HideTongue, TongueDown, TongueUp, TongueOut, TongueNyaa. * Body Morphs and Dials: - Bodies (2): Scarietta-Full, Scarietta-Body. - Hands (3): Size Hands, SizeHand-R, SizeHand-L - Arms (1): ArmsLength. - Chest (1): Scarietta-Chest. - Torso (1): BellyTubby. - Legs (1): LegsLength. - Feet (3): Size Feet, SizeFoot-R, SizeFoot-L. * Improved and Expanded Pose ERC. A: To bring both original Bears (as one figure now) up-to-date with the other ScareToons with better bending, polygon placement and density and to allow them to use a unified catalog of clothing. Simple Magnet Sets with EZ instructions are included to fully convert Kapooki and Secret Danger Cat clothing. RottenTail clothing should work "as is". Q: Can ScareBear 2.0 use original ScareBear or Scarietta clothing and props? A: ScareBear 2.0 is rigged completely differently and older clothing will likely be converted, so a big no on clothing. Props can be manually scaled and fitted to just about anyone, including ScareBear 2.0. Q: Can ScareBear 2.0 use original ScareBear or Scarietta textures? A: No, the UV Maps are more suited to the mapping used in the later ScareToon figures. The original ScareBear and Scarietta skin textures have been re-created and are included. Q: Can ScareBear 2.0 use ScareToon poses? A: ScareBear 2.0 can natively use RottenTail, Secret Danger Cat and Kapooki Poses. In fact, ScareBear 2.0 poses better than all of them due to added JCM. Q: What are the differences between ScareBear 2.0 and original ScareBear? A: ScareBear 2.0 was designed around the "second generation" ScareToon figures (Secret Danger Cat, RottenTail, Kapooki) so the rigging is very similar to those figures. ScareBear 2.0's head is over twice the polygon count of the original, allowing for vastly better morphing ability. The entire head is one piece, instead of being divided into lash, eyelid, mouth and ears parts - much easier to handle for everyone. All of the skin textures have been re-created from scratch. Skin UVs are completely different and though not identical are more "in line" with the later ScareToons. Q: What is the fate of the original ScareBear and Scarietta? A: They will be retired from the Stores to avoid confusion. Netherworks Studios and it's merchants will be in the process of converting some older products and creating many brand new ones that will outshine the old ones. We've upgraded too since ScareBear was originally released ;) ------------------------------------------------------------- --- File Manifest --- ------------------------------------------------------------- Unzipped to your main Poser folder, everything should go to the right places. We hope that you get hours, months and years of enjoyment out of using the figure. Most of the figure is self-explanatory. There are a few areas that require additional attention: ------------------------------------------------------------- > Scarietta 2.0 ------------------------------------------------------------- Included in this package is a way to turn ScareBear 2.0 into Scarietta 2.0. There are dials provided to accomplish this: Scarietta-Body - In the "Bodies" submenu of the body, this will morph ScareBear into Scarietta's shape. Scarietta-Chest - In the "Chest" submenu of the body, this will give ScareBear a mature chest. Scarietta2 - In the "Styles" submenu of the head body part, this will allow ScareBear's head to look like Scarietta's. Scarietta-Full - An all-in-one dial in the "Bodies" submenu of the body. It manipulates all three of the dials, above. Additional Textures are included with MATs to complete the Scarietta conversion. ------------------------------------------------------------- > Pose ERC ------------------------------------------------------------- There are a ton of new Posing dials located in ScareBear 2.0's body to allow you to pose him quickly and accurately. You may want to turn off the IK in both legs before using these dials. There are also Pose Files supplied to do this for you. IK does not apply to DAZ Studio. ------------------------------------------------------------- > Using RottenTail, Kapooki and Secret Danger Cat clothing ------------------------------------------------------------- It is very possible to use clothing from these figures, known hereafter as the ScareToon line, easily with ScareBear 2.0. RottenTail body Clothing should require no adjustments. Simple Magnet Sets are included to use Secret Danger Cat and Kapooki body clothing with ScareBear 2.0. They are found in the ScareBear2 Props folder. They are very easy to use and I will teach you how in 10 easy steps. Poser users may wish to pick up our free MorphKit Select Python Script to really make this a snap. DAZ Studio users will need to use and be familiar with the D-Form plug-in. 1. Start with an empty scene. 2. Load any Kapooki or SD Cat clothing. 3. Load the appropriate Magnet Set 4. In every body part that you see, except for pose pointers, spawn a morph (in the Poser Menu, "Object" then "Spawn Morph Target"). I suggest using "FitScareBear2" or something similar. 5. Delete the 5 Magnets 6. Set each of those Spawned Morphs to 1.000 7. Spawn a Full Body Morph also called "FitScareBear2" (in the Poser Menu, "Figure" then "Create Full Body Morph"). 8. Set all the Spawned Morphs back to 0.000 9. Save your Clothing cr2 with a new name and you may wish to use ScareBear2's figure folder for the save location. 10. Now when you load ScareBear 2 and conform his (or her!) converted clothing, dial the FitScareBear2 Body morph to 1. In most cases you will need to turn OFF ScareBear 2.0's JCM morphs or things may poke out when he is bent while wearing converted clothing. There are pose files supplied for doing this in the MAT-ScareBear2 folder. Select the bear and click the pose. If you converted clothing and wish to use Scarietta2 with it, simple use that clothing's LaFemme morphs, if applicable. ------------------------------------------------------------- > Using RottenTail, Kapooki and Secret Danger Cat props ------------------------------------------------------------- Using Props from these figures is pretty straightforward. You can easily scale and move any props to make them work natively on ScareBear 2.0. Make your adjustments and save them to the library for future use! ------------------------------------------------------------- > Blood or not Blood ------------------------------------------------------------- Though he (and she) can be Scary (I know of things that are FAR scarier), ScareBear is meant to be an all-ages figure. The clothing and bear can be done in bloody and clean styles. This figure is intended to be playful within the realm of hollywood horror and light gore. Concerned parents who purchased ScareBear 2.0 for their children may wish to remove the weaponry and blood options, though in my opinion watching the 10 o'clock news or a number of regularly televised crime dramas are far worse than anything replicated in this package. ------------------------------------------------------------- >>> Templates ------------------------------------------------------------- Color UV templates have been included in their own folder for your convenience. They are presented in .gif format to reduce the size of the archive. ------------------------------------------------------------- *** Restrictions ------------------------------------------------------------- Commercial and Non-commercial renders and animations are fine.
