Bears Brigade by Cyllan

Being pushed further and further from their home forests by the march of industrialisation, eight little bears set up home together in the remotest woods they could find. With hard work, the little community prospered, but the world outside was always coming closer. Finally, the logging camps grew nearer, and the peaceful community was shattered by the endless buzz of saws and crash of trees. The bears made the long trek to the town to seek help and advice, but too late - when they came back, their forest friends had gone. Their home was a treeless scar on the earth. Although it was too late for their friends, the bears swore to dedicate their lives to helping others under similar threat, and so was born the Bears Brigade. Wherever the weak and helpless are under threat, wherever little animals are frightened and feel alone, the Bears Brigade will fight their battles....
